Privacy Policy

All services offered by The Counselling Group are provided with strict respect for confidentiality. All notes, records and communications made by your counsellor during your involvement as a client are kept secure and confidential. These can be shared only with your written consent. You will need to sign a “Release of Information” form before we can share this information with other persons or agencies.

The privacy of clients is held in strict confidence, complying with privacy and other applicable legislation. The law requires that our records be disclosed under strict conditions. In the following situations, the law requires that reports be made and/or information released:

• If child abuse is suspected
• If there is a threat of danger to a client or to a third party (threat of suicide, threat towards others)
• Due to court orders and subpoenas.
